PRESENTATION & TARGET AUDIENCE
This training is designed for executives, EXCOM/CODIR members and board members of entities subject to the NIS2 directive. It provides an in-depth review of the directive’s specific obligations: incident detection and reporting, the regulatory notification timeline, coordination with the authorities, compliance audits, policy updates, supply chain governance and staff awareness.
PREREQUISITES
No technical or theoretical prerequisites are required to attend this training.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The overall pedagogical objective of this training is to enable executives to deepen their understanding of the operational obligations specific to NIS2, so they can effectively supervise incident management, notification to the authorities, preparation for compliance audits and the continuous improvement of their organisation’s security framework.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
● Distinguish the internal detection and handling of an incident from its external reporting, and identify the point at which a management decision is explicitly required;
● Apply the regulatory notification sequence to a given scenario;
● Identify the relevant contacts and understand how NIS2 and the GDPR interact in the event of a personal data breach;
● Interpret the supervisory powers of the competent authority and what they imply in terms of documents and evidence to be produced;
● Connect the lessons learned from incidents and audits to the obligation to update cybersecurity policies;
● Identify the due diligence expected before a strategic signature with a service provider, and the steering role required for a staff awareness programme.
TRAINING METHODS
This training alternates interactive presentations and practical exercises. A running incident scenario is used throughout the session to concretely anchor the regulatory timeline and the associated management decisions. The following sequences are based on hands-on exercises.
ASSESSMENT METHOD
Effective mastery of all the learning objectives is verified through a quiz (summative assessment).
